@dave19941000: It's the exact same thing. Ossetians have their own language and culture that is different from that have Georgians, and have lived in the region for centuries, as have Albanians in Kosovo. Both the U.S and Russia played used the "ethnic cleansing" myth in order to break both regions off for their own personal interests. Kosovo: 12 years later is run by a sex trafficking regime with NATO backing. South Ossetia: run by local mobsters of the Kremlin.

There are no similarities, one (Kosovo) was created by intervention against ethnic cleansing, the other was created by communist creating an administrative region within a country. Before the Russian civil war there was no such thing as an Ossetian because there had never been an Ossetia.
