Protests as Michigan passes 'anti-union' law

Thousands of union workers and their supporters crowded into downtown Lansing - the capital of Michigan. A show of strength against so-called Right To Work legislation that would prohibit unions from forcing people to join and pay dues as a condition of employment. I read somewhere that at one time, GM's largest supplier (by dollar value) was Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan, more than any parts supplier.

At one time, Old GM was paying over $17M/yr in charges for lifestyle drugs such as Viagra. Unions can be beneficial but some take things WAY too far.

It was actually higher than that until a near bankrupt GM finally demanded concessions. Believe they used to cost GM $72 per hour, including wage and benefits.
