Silek Harimau, better known today as Harimau Pencak Silat, is the rare and infamous fighting style from the Minangkabau tribe of West Sumatra. This fighting system is based on the Sumatran tiger and as a result its approach to combat is both unorthodox and extremely effective. The art, like its inspiration the tiger, is fast becoming extinct due to the lack of students willing to study in the strenuous and demanding training program.
