I was lucky enough to get on the guest list for Endeavour's launch July 15th, 2009. More details on the mission: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STS_127

  • U didn't get on any guest list. People with KSC tickets were allowed in that day.

  • I was on a guest list, actually. I was there in early June for a conference on NASA's involvement in supporting STEM education. Originally we were supposed to view the launch at OSBII right behind launch control (still have the green button). Got to go up there and brush shoulders with the likes of Bob Cabana and some NASA education administrators. Unfortunately they only had that building reserved for us for the one launch attempt, and it was over to Banana Creek for us instead.

  • Thanks for posting. My son and I are visible at the start of the video. He had the #9 football jersey on (I am to his left). Now we have "real" proof we were there. :)

We got a couple of great pictures and now we have a video to go with it.

Reliving our experience today after watching STS-133 this afternoon. Man we were a rowdy bunch out at Banana Creek that day, weren't we? Two trips to Florida over June and July and a bunch of visits to KSCVC but it was worth it.

  • i tried to watch that 3 times then when I went home it lifted off now im mad but I want to see that spaceshuttle liftoff at 11:59 8/28

  • I bought a regular main complex ticket on Jul.07, 09....than I drove from Miami on Jul.11, 09 to find out the launch was cancel due to lightning day before.., but trip was excellent since I was able to buy the Causeway bus ticket at that morning. So I returned to Miami and back to KSC on Jul.12th, 13th and finally the 15th..on that day for the surprise of my live NASA driver told us we we're going to see the launch from Banana Creek. I cried during the launch, never ever will forgive this moment
