  • I do Iris folding all the time, it's fun and beautiful and people like getting them as gifts because you can give them as cards or frame them. You can dry emboss the borders too or add other embellishments. It's inexpensive since you can use scraps of paper. Not cardstock though. I like using scrapbook paper or oragami paper because there is such a variety and it isn't heavy. Thanks for the video

  • very good

  • Thank you for this informative video!!! Just made an adorable sea turtle....along with tons of others from patterns I've found online from the Stamping Details website (a quaint store located in Poway, CA)

  • Great card and very clear tutorial, too! Thank you very much!

I bought a book for iris folding Christmas cards, but they only give 3 patterns in the back, and they aren't numbered. If I have a pattern, and it's not numbered or sectioned off to know which color/pattern paper to use where, how do I know what to do? Also, I've seen different suggestions for the width of the paper strips. How do you know which one to use for a particular pattern if it's not listed?

    Thanks,

    Michele

  • @craftyalice Thank you. I have a sister who taught me. I had never heard of Iris folding until then and fell in love with the craft as soon as I saw it. It was so easy. I do other crafts as well, like dry embossing, heat embossing, stamping, quilling, pinbroidery, etc... Thanks for your video. Isabel
