Quasi - Sam Coomes, Janet Weiss and Joanna Bolme - have been rocking the sticky floored graffiti scrawled dimly lit trenches since 1993. What's been learned in these long years? Get off your ass, kick out the jams, lay it on the line, and communal mind meld is within reach. Do it for love and there is no reason for regrets.

Portland duo-turned-trio Quasi have now announced details of their forthcoming eighth album, American Gong. Mixed by Steve Fisk, Tucker Martine and Dave Fridmann, the follow-up to 2006's When the Going Gets Dark is set for release on 22nd February 2010 through Domino in the UK & Europe, and Kill Rock Stars in the US.

  • I'm Cajun French but due to Katrina I live in Alabama. I explain it to the Alabamians as this: speaking Cajun French to a Parisian French speaker is like sending Snoop Dogg over to communicate with the Queen of England.

  • "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler ?"

i'm french and i don't understand this sentence...

  • @americanmuscle76 L0L!!! SO TRUE!!! best way to put it!

  • "Let the good times roll" slang

  • @LBlueUntitled Let the good times roll..lol

  • MAGNIFISENT

  • @LBlueUntitled Let the good times role. :)

  • @phphphphph03 well, so is your screen name. very creative btw

  • @Furiouze The language of the Acadians (Cajuns) has changed in somewhat isolation for a couple of hundred years, as has Modern French on a separate course. I speak hardly any french, but wouldn't it directly translate, "Allow (or free) the good times (to) roll)"?

    Anyway, awesome tune.

  • youngsaintsfan : maybe, but in french, that doesn't mean anything X3

  • I know, it's just a piss in the ocean

It's just a grain of sand

Well, it's just about enough to make a difference to me

    I used to be mad

    Not crazy, just mad

    Not anymore

The receding taillights of a teenage dream

I dare-say that this song is prophetic, and the music provides a poignant end to an inspired album.
