Why you say it's imposed by men? sure there are few mowen who are obliged to.. but in any religion there are black sheep
But just a thing we have to know is that hijab and style of modest clothing is just a commandement of Allah ta'ala. we wear hijab for Allah ta'ala, ONLY for him.

if u want an example of women wearing hijaab out of their own free will simply look@western countries where the hijaab is not imposed and yet muslim women still wear it by choice.in france where their freedom is taken away they protest all the time and speak out against the hijaab ban in schools.
i'm a muslim woman i chose to wear hijaab and so did all my friends.
