Front foot flaring also helps balance!!! if you didnt have the front foot flared you would roll to the outside of ur left foot.

YO Mogan......i am a Hogan nut.......i read the 5 lesson most nights .....its like my bible........i bought your book and i love it.....it answers many questions about 5 lessons......i really like the section about ringing the bell.......i used to try and swing like hogan but i ended up hooking the ball swinging flat like he did.....i realised i am a different build to him, i am tall and thin and i need to swing on a more upright plane.

Can anyone recommend a decent digital camcorder for recording golf swings?
Hey Sevam, so I have been playing with different grips after your comment a few days ago... to be honest the 1st time i tried the 5 lessons vardon grip i wasnt entirely comfortable, so i went back to my interlocking grip. but after your comments and watching your videos and hogan videos over and over again i forced myself to use it for a few days..... and the result is straighter shots than I have ever had before, with every club. it feels more natural to cup the left wrist now as well. thnx!

There is some magic in the Vardon grip. Having the left thumb and forefinger on the shaft does a number of positive things. Some are related to feel, but others are mechanical and relate to the true fulcrum point on the shaft which is between the hands under the left thumb. Moe told me to work everything through the left thumb. You can do this better (especially on the backswing) with the left forefinger on the shaft.

Video got stretched vertically in processing. I'm still as fat as last year. Stronger though.
