"Where Am I Going" performed live in Montreal at a concert in 1991.I would have to say that this is my all time favorite Gino Vannelli song. It is originally from his album "Storm At Sunup" which was released in 1975, when I was a senior in high school. I could listen to this song a million times and never tire of it. The cd and a dvd of the concert can be purchased at http://ginov.com along with the cd "Storm At Sunup". Also, if you are a big Gino fan, check out http://ginovannelli.info which is run by Barend and Trees Verwaal, it is an amazing site, and they are dear friends and dedicated fans of Gino and his life's work. Send them your thoughts and comments about Gino, they love to hear from the fans!! Also, check out Gino's new cd " A Good Thing", which was released in February, 2009....It includes poetry written by the master of music himself....Also visit Gino's official website to keep updated on the new cd by visiting B&T's web page...

Lyrics..

Where am I going
Have I gone too far
Have I lost my mind
Where are my eyes
Oh have I seen to much
Have I lost my touch
Losing directions from growing infections
Poisoned desires of reaping life so young

What will I be like
When my head is bare and my legs are weak
Will I be strong or barely keep alive
When I'm thirty-five
Reaching dimensions that shatter conventions
Leads me to fear that I'm growing old too soon

With every step and every breath
It's farther from youth and closer to death
And that things I've realized
Now beckon me to shut my eyes
And I will grow to the age of maybe eighty years
In such little time
With this venturous mind

INSTRUMENTAL

What am I saying
Don't I know myself from experience
I'll never change
Nor cease to sail the sky
Till the day I die
I'll come to conclusion with fear or illusion
I'll live how I feel
Cause no matter how fast or how slow
Youth will go

  • At the moment one of my prefered "Heart voice on Earth" and not only, the kind of words of this song!!! About the music, the kind of chords used in his music are fantastic on the guitar! In one word, for me, the artist who should be on first page everywhere, just because of his feeling & meaningful words of his songs, that's what we need, which are the mirror of his personality!

  • @MrGianc

All of the fans feel this way about him, thank you for the nice comment !!

  • Everytime I watch this I see something new...as a drummer I am surprised to find Zildjian bass head...cool! I am addicted and admit it! Interesting group photo of one man with like 4 women (2:59)...Vanelli's?

  • @gmonet46

LOL, that photo was taken after the concert at the Montreal Jazz Fest in July, 2008. The man is Gino's Uncle Vic who was very gracious to us....As for the four women, it is me and three of my Gino friends.....

  • I love Gino, i was 15yrs old when i first heard him and fell crazy in love with him, Saw him in concert here in DFW i believe in 78-79?..still crazy about him! what happened to his Brothers? Joe n Ross?...Is Gino still married? ( i was supposed to Marry him..haha) i know he's got a son, what does he do, is he following his dad's footsteps?..Please Gino it's been a long time since i seen you in concert ~Come to Dallas, TX!!

  • Can you say TIGHT. The reason we can listen to these songs over and over again is because there are NO flaws. This is not easy music to play. Lots of time changes. Saw him twice in the 70's. I have seen many concerts since the 60's and Gino is one of the top 2 ever.

  • A supreme talent ! Always had such outstanding musicians in his band including

    brothers Joe and Ross.

  • His music is so damn good! The young generation of artists need to be taking notes on this man's creativity.

  • Where am I going? Have gone to far? Gino and his amazing band, Joe, Graham, Baker, John.

  • @sparkling822

    Thank you !!
