Thanks for the video and the tips. Im gonna cook my 5th batch this year. I love your steamer! Where can I get one?

Music waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too loud! Can't hear what Jose is saying! Liked his recipe - pretty much the same as my in-laws make, but wish I could hear him. We get that this is a MEXICAN recipe - lose the music, por favor.

@NIHAGHULAM He used a spice mix.A good mix to use would include...Salt,Black Pepper,Chili Powder,Paprika,Cumin Seed (fresh toasted and ground if possible),Ground Corriander (optional),Ground Red Pepper,Mexican Oregano,Bay Leaf (remove later). And I personally add my dried chillis right in the stewing meat.I also like to toast my entire spice mix right befor adding to the pot...it seems like I get a deeper flavor that way.

@FoulOwl what did he add in the chicken before the water?

@jachapez maybe too late but it is OK to use FRESH corn husks, i do it all the time, and that skips you the step to soak the husks, and are more easy to handle while you spread the masa ;)

good video, but you need to lose the music

Hi.Good video.I love tamales.I'm getting ready to make my third batch ever. They've turned out great every time so far.I have a question though.Im also a home gardener.I'm going to be harvesting my first corn today. Can I use the FRESH corn husks out of my garden tomorrow,or do I HAVE to go buy the dried ones? Will it effect the taste or texture of the tamales?Like I say,Im planning on cooking tomorrow,so anyone who could offer me a suggestion quickly would be appreciated. Thanks!

this video is good but the guy in the first half of the video was speaking really low and the music was too loud, whats up with that, second the guy was not being detailed when he was adding the ingredients he was just putting stuff into the pan, and the third of all those muertos in the background where not the business but overall the lady was really good. good video tho.

you right. However, i must say that the video has been corrupted and also we are not professional videographer or cooks. do not take it so personal, there are more and better videos on youtube for you to learn how to make tamales. anyway thanks for your comments. next cooking video, if any, will be done much better than this one
