Do you have blindspots?

@scottie0904 Haha, not quite pointless. The acknowledgement of the complexity of things is of value in itself. I could list a whole host of possibilities if it wasn't for YTs stupid 500 character limit, but even if I could it still wouldn't be exhaustive.

@Loreleila Indeed. I have been thinking about it for part of the day. Any possible route to an answer seems to uproot aspects of so many subjects that it becomes an incredibly complicated matter.
Could it be caused by specific tendencies in brain structure? or is it something more abstract, such as the way our education system plays out? Perhaps there's something particular in the curriculum which leads to the development of these blindspots.
My speculation is so vague that it seems pointless.

@scottie0904 I'm the same with 'necessary', um 'neccessary', No that's not right. lol
This whole thing is very strange. It seems as if a lot of people have similar problems to myself. I wonder what the underlying cause of that could be?

@MsSmokeNmirrors Isnt it odd? I mean you're really articulate which would suggest you would be good at these things. Though on the other hand they're different kinds of functioning. I have a very dry sense of humour. People often assume I'm being deadly serious when I'm not. Sometimes that's very funny and others it's a real pain in the backside.

@2bsirius It was a great response. Thanks Karen. I feel many project their blindspots at others here. It's almost the ideal place. Little visibility, the 'pleasure' of seeing someone brought down or wounded seems to be too tempting for many. It's the uncommon person who looks at their own blindspots upon reacting, rather than assuming the feelings must be about someone elses behaviour. Yet realistically we tend to only react violently to things which resonate within.

To add, I have to mention that there are two words with which correct spelling seems to elude me;
"necessary" and "necessarily". I sometimes include two "c's" or two "r's" as opposed to the "s". It's very annoying. I often get it right, either by chance or because I recently re-retained it, but there are times when spell-checkers are not close by and I know that me writing it down is going to be a tentative business.
It's nice to be reminded I'm not the only one with blindspots. ;-)
I struggle with facts and figures. Basically anything concrete. I'm good at thinking in an abstract way, and sometimes I seem to think very emotionally as well as creatively, but it's frustrating that I struggle so much with really simple things like remembering dates. I just try to work on it as best I can, whilst accepting that it's not my strong point.

@recklessragdoll I wish everyone would remember and stop the pretence they're perfect. You just have to create workarounds for these things I think. I quite like the fact I'm useless at some things. I probably wouldn't like it if I were useless at everything but those things help me keep myself in perspective.

If I have to remember a phone number that is very similar to another I know,or used to know, my memory goes into this annoying loop of referencing one number against the other. At that point I am at a loss to remember either number correctly (arghh!) Sometimes I can get my brain cells to hold hands with a strong cup of coffee,and the problem temporarily goes away.

@cosmicskydaddy1 I know that feeling.
