Nina Virdee is the UK's leading exponent of the Kirana' Gharana Style of Hindustani classical vocal. Naturally gifted with a melodious and resonant voice, which extends uniquely across a range of three octaves, Nina effortlessly captures the exquisite yet vibrant and dynamic emotions of Hindustani classical music.

She combines youth fulflair with mature virtuosity - whether khayal, thumri or bhajan. Her training began at an early age with Shree Surjit Singh Raja. Her style, classism, and maturity was developed under the tutelage from distinguished maestro Ustad Dilshad Khan and Begum Parween Sultana.

Since 1995, when Nina gave her debut performance in Bombay, she has performedin India and abroad. In 2002, Nina performed in Whitehallfor Her Majesty, The Queen.

  • Absolutely divine! Can we buy a copy of the whole concert from any where?

  • Nina has a cd of Gurbani Kirtan which can be purchased from darbarlounge dot com

  • I just bought her album on iTunes. It's awesome, but not as "funky" as this. That is some tight tabla playing.

...also, she's sexy as hell, but that's another topic of discussion.

Does she have any other recordings not available through iTunes? (I gather she does, but not sure where to find them).

  • Subhan Allah. great Singing.

  • If it weren't for the harmonium, I might actually recommend that people go to Indian classical concerts.

  • This clip is unique, such quality voice singing a classical piece of music as it were honey, and the person, what a beauty!

The only thing I don't like is, why you call her Nina, her real name Jasbeer is a worthy one.
