policy of truth is by far one of the baddest songs by my favorite group depeche mode...I always hated their version...one day a friend came to me and told me there was a band who did a cover of this song...it didn't took my interest but he put it on and when the song finished my first thoughts were'this one's more original and so much better than Depeche Mode-the bad song from depeche was replaced by this one...damn good cover!!!

Better than the original!

@gloria665 Hi Gloria, Whilst I agree that they sound similar, that IS going to happen! All 'rock' bands are going to end up playing 'rock' songs, and there are only so many notes any musician can write with, and some of those don't fit well with certain others! It looks like Depeche Mode wrote this first, and Soundgarden followed a year later!
Clapton released the song "Let It Grow" in 1974, and two years later, the Eagles did "Hotel California" - very similar chords and flow.

WOW, EXCELENTE COVER DE UNA DE LAS MEJORES ROLAS DE DEPECHE MODE, ME GUSTA...!!!
I bought this CD back in '92 after watching this song on MTV... I too thought it was amazing until a few weeks later I found that the guitar intro in this song is a sampler of Soundgarden's "Room a thousand years wide" from 1991... I don't know how they pulled this off along all these years, except for the ignorant motherfuckers who still praise them... bitches!
