@randy12368 Please check all the way back to the comments I've left... let's see... 6 months ago? I wanst talking about this ignitor. I was talking about how other people do ignitor in general for larger rockets. Wires is important because some people ignite the target material with pulses with a frequency. (different freqency means different time delay... to pulse power to the driving circuit)In this case, cable-cap may fuck things up. Btw, frequency response is nothing big.
@SniperPIKACHU imporving the frequency response... lol what a putz. What are you sugesting... getting radio transmisions from his ignitor? Yeah... like imporving the frequency response by lowering transmission parallel capacitance and series resistance will light his match any better. His little battery won't lite his match using larger wire. You must like to impress yourself using big words.
@SniperPIKACHU yes, but the match head is what actually creates the flame. so the spark/heat from the wire ignites the match so the rocket engine is sure to ignite.
@SniperPIKACHU No. the point is to conduct a fairly large amount of electricity through a wire that can't handle it, which is the purpose of the small wire, so it will catch fire and ignite the rocket.
@VicToRMrOwKa I know this is an old question, but I'll respond anyway. The reason it doesn't work with the longer wire is because the longer the wire length, the more energy is lost. This is because the wire is not 100% efficient at conducting electricity. There is always some energy loss.
Hey thanks!

@tofu4tortoise I see, so the wire itself is the ignition material. Thanks for the information. :)

@SeanAxela
I Have the same problem!!!
and i found the solution!
these 9v batterys have a really low number of amperes...
use 3x1.5 or a celphone/camara battary end it wil work!
