Calypso's first stop in French Polynesia is in the turquoise lagoon of Maupelia, an isolated atoll in the Society Islands, also known as Maupihaa. The Cousteau team discovers exuberant wildlife on the bits of land, where birds nest peacefully, and in the blue waters, where schools of colorful fish make way for sober-suited sharks.
