Myanmar - Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival

Every year, Taunggyi Tazaungdaing lighting festival is held with hot air balloon launching competitions.
We are now at the foot of Sulamuni Lawkachantha pagoda hill and you will see lots of youth and children who are participating day time amateur level hot air balloon launching competition. When they become elders or when they become old they can continue to join that competition for their rising. In the day time competition, three types of balloon are launched. The balloons are specified to be the local life of bags and toys. The judges give points on the similarities of caricatures to the depicted animals or things. It should be distinctive and natural. The most important of however is the balloon must not be burned during the launching.
