Nevertheless the South Cotabato Medical Society 42nd Induction Ceremony was captured for the sake of reviewing what had transpired during the occasion. This time, no more contest, only special presentation from different departments and field of specialty. Likewise other provincial health institution fielded their own version which added color to the occasion. First of its kind that the event was held at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center. From the outgoing set of officers 2010 headed by Dr. Kitoy Castillo, the turn over of responsibility was received by the incoming set of officers led by the society's president 2011, Dr. Cecilia Tomulto- Diaz and her disciples, ALL- PEDIATRICIANS officers. The guest of honor was no less than the president of South Eastern Mindanao Chapter of the Philippine Medical Association, Dr. Panopio from Davao City. The incumbents, ALL-PHYSICIANS- POLITICIANS were our guests speakers and performers, too. Provincial Governor, Dr. Arthur Y. 'dodo' Pingoy, M.D. delivered his speech followed by Koronadal City Mayor Dr. Peter B. Miquel, M.D.-Otolaryngologist and finally the Vice Governor of South Cotabato added his talent in singing, Dr. Elmo B. Tolosa, M.D.- Ophthalmologist. Everyone was really excited to witness this induction ceremony not only acquiring its brand new home but showing their explosive appearance on stage. We could not forget the happy faces from the physicians of South Cotabato while they unfold the Showdown of Talents in Singing, Dancing and other stage antics. The Province of South Cotabato is located at the Southern most part of Mindanao, Philippines. It was cut, once part of COTABATO PROVINCE. The northern portion of Cotabato was subdivided into North Cotabato, Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat. Few years back, South Cotabato province covered the shorelines of the Southern Mindanao lately it was cut into half, birthing the new Sarangani Province where the major Airport and Seaport are located and to have their own set of government. The whole Socsksargen (South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos City) area have advanced medical facilities that cater to their constituents and patients. Agriculture is still the prime livelihood, while there's an upsurge of business and commerce with the sprouting of large malls like the KCC, GAISANO, FITMART MALL, ROBINSON AND SM MALLS. The natives of South Cotabato are the B'Laans, T'bolis, Manobos etc..Today the province is inhabited mostly by 95% Christians from Luzon and the Visayas who did a splendid job of transforming the area and still progressing!
