Jackson's most brilliant moment, closely followed by Tony Jarrett ,whose career, sadly for him, seemed to always follow slightly in Jackson's wake. (Though he did win a Commonwealth gold,I believe?)

  • has the record been beaten?

  • @TCt83067695 Yeah..a Chinese bloke called Liu Xiang lowered it a couple of times 4 or 5 years ago and a Cuban fella caled Dayron Robles ( great name!!) set the current record at 12.87 back in 2008. I reckon Jackson's time will still be the UK best when I'm kicking up the daises!

  • yay shortest guy won! haha this coming from a 5'7" 110 hurdler =P

  • Incredible that the 12.91 WR stood for 13 years. Well done Jacko!!

  • @JrHarvin1000 [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about David Oliver]

all injury-free and in vintage form.

  • @JrHarvin1000 It's possible, yeah. Mr Oliver is a great athlete. Mind you, in order to seriously threaten Dayron Robles's world record, he will have to recapture the form that he showed in 2010. His form last summer (2011) was not as impressive, by any means, as his 2010 form.

The 110 metres hurdles final at the Olympic Games next summer should turn out to be an exhilarating and memorable race ... particularly if the 'big three of the event' - Mr Oliver, Mr Robles and Mr Xiang - are

  • david oliver will probably beat the record

  • AWESOME athlete .

  • @TCt83067695 Yes, but Mr Jackson's excellent time of 12.91 seconds remains a European and Commonwealth record, so it does. What is more, he is still the world record holder for the (indoor) 60 metres hurdles. He set that record in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 6th March 1994 - some 17 and a half years ago now.

'Jacko' really was an awesome athlete when he has young and in his prime. If fate had been just a little bit kinder to him, he would have certainly won an Olympic Gold medal.

  • Tony Jarrett...........great wingman!!
