@ryangatech Can you please explain to us all exactly which men Abraham was justified before? Your argument just fell to pieces when honest minded people think through such a statement.

First sola fide is refuted by the bible. Secondly you have nerve to use an extra-biblical phrase argument. You say Trinty is implied, so is the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but you would affirm its not there because it is not explicit. At the judgment of nations Jesus awards and condemns people for their works.

The question of James 2 is genuine faith. Abraham repeatedly is said in Romans 4 to be justified by faith, before any good, righteous deeds (or sacraments) he perorms such as circumcision. So to Rahab is said to be justified by works in James 2:25, yet it was this genuine faith that brings her good works/deeds

Isaac.

Faith alone cannot even be an "EXTRA-biblical phrase" because it is contrary to what scripture teaches. You are correct about the trinity, that although not explicit, we can derive implicitly to that conclusion. However, we cannot even apply this method to faith alone because the bible EXPLICITLY teaches the contrary. James 2:24 says, "You see that a man is justified by works and NOT by faith alone."

"Faith alone is an unbiblical phrase."
No, Mr. Sungenis, it is an EXTRA-biblical phrase, just like "Trinity." The concept is there: we are not justified by works but faith (Romans 4:5). James was about a justification before whom? Men (verse 18). Simple.
In that entire context James 2:14-24, we find an example of this justification by works... Can you tell me what "men" were there to witness Abraham's justification?
