As part of a group show inspired by performance based art, Nicole Dennis and Saha Jones (of the Academy of Emergency Art Sydney)exhibit their MICROMERGENCY work, responding to their experience over the past 5 months in developing a mentorship and alliance with Thierry Geoffroy - founder of Emergency Rooms. They were invited by him to make additions/corrections/thoughts to his recently published Emergency Dictionary, which has been growing and forming since the 1980s when he began writing the manifesto. This critique of the critique so to speak, has become a new critical format. Together with the hanging of 154pages, Nicole and Saha conducted a SLOW DANCE, which is the first time this awareness muscle training has been initiated in Australia.
You can also see the archival footage of their past 5 CRITICAL RUNS. At The Vanishing Point gallery 565 King St Newtown, Sydney UNTIL THE 25TH OF JULY 2010
