google search "dreamlines" for generative art. much more interesting IMO than AARON.

there already are robots that can show emotional reactions

Technology is merely a tool, a very effective one, but still just a tool. The human being using that tool is the artist, and he is an artist no matter what tool he chooses to use, technological or not.
Artificial intelligence isn't yet enough human-like to be capable of art, in my opinion. I'm sure we'll get there someday, but we are still very far from it. For an AI to be capable of art, it would have to be capable of feelings and expressions.
Interresting video 5/5

an AI would only be able of competing with human artists if it were to be sentient enough to have personality, a complex understanding of the human reaction to art. It would have to be able to attain diversity and consistency simultaneously.
The AI mentioned is limited to still-life. It also appears to only create digital media.
For an AI to replace human artists, it would have to have the complexity, and capability of a man. Even then, it will still be an individual. One individual.
So it came to my attention that the video ends in the middle of a sentence. I'm really sorry about this and may fix it if I have time later. You should know that it is the last sentence though. If you're really dying to know how it ends here you go:
"Users could potentially choose different styles of art, and then the computer will generate pieces based on their preferences. It could be the ultimate in personal art with the added bonus of being quicker and cheaper."
