Try going to China...same reaction. A friend of mine who's tall and blonde got part of her hair cut off by an old woman who sneaked up on her from behind.

I can understand your nicety but don't indulge yourself in such activity. This could be dangerous. There were lots of untoward incidents reported with white people in India. Hope you are safe & sound and returned back to Texas safely.

Blonde's are not very common in India. Especially in Bangalore lol. Your also very tall! I'm sure people thought you were a super model or something. Just a word of advice. Me and girlfriend (she's Canadian) went to the south a few months ago. be careful, not everyone are well wishers and don't accept favors (free rides, free rooms, free meals, etc).

@LOLMAN22 Well actually, Sweden has the highest reported cases or sexual abuse and rape :P Anyways, men will act like that wherever you go...

A majority of poor Indian men act like they have never seen a woman, I went there in summer of 2010 and it was pretty sad. My sister and I were going to the mall and I noticed that all the men in the street were ogling at her (we were trying to track a ricksaw), that's exactly what she said ("haven't these guys seen a girl before?")
I think India has the highest reported cases of sexual abuse and rape....pretty sad.

Its because we are related to the Great ones in the sky..
I thought you were so gracious and patient with all of your admirers. I was also struck by their respect and towards you. They didn't mob you, and instead kept a respectful distance. Each one approached you, one at a time, and requested a picture with you, before taking it. The rose was especially sweet. I have always wanted to go to India. However, I'm a tall Texan, from Dallas, not blond, but I'll be prepared, just in case! LOL

Well aren't you a needy woman! :p Lol as an Indian I can say with confidence that you should probably rethink your actions. In 95% of the cases, you will be fine and the people who approach you are no more than curious locals who are just attracted to something foreign and uncommon to them. But in some rare cases, your safety might be at risk. Especially in the case of hawkers and beggars. I would advise you to stop this kind of behavior regardless of which part of the world you might be in.
