  • Well... the idea of a "stop" is really a classical bowed string term... doesn't really apply to fretted instruments b/c the fret IS the "stop" for the string. What you're doing is "playing two notes" or "playing chords" - but it's still a good little beginner lesson.

  • This is what guitarist call them. Their terminology could be completely wrong like a lot of names, titles, or labeling. Thanks for the comment.....

  • Your guitar sounds sweet !

  • I once read somewhere that using double stops a sixth apart can be found in something called the Memphis scale, or something along those lines. I am a big fan of Mark Knopfler, and I heard someone using this technique when playing in his style, and using this name when describing it. I looked it up, and now I recognize it when you demonstrate it.

    I am loving these lessons, please keep them coming!
