Original song from Black Irish Band member, Patrick Michael Karnahan, about the loss of the steamship Brother Jonathan in the year of 1865 near Crescent City California. Patrick wrote this song in 1995 before the ship was found by Deep Sea Research. The ship left San Fransisco, and was out just two day when a storm hit the Pacific. The ship went down near present Pt. Saint George Lighthouse (Seal Rock). Over 100 souls were lost with only about 20 who made it to shore.
The song ballad is on the bands 12th album CD, "Into the Arms of the Sea" The album is for sale on CD Baby or www.blackirish.com
(special note: there are only a few pictures of the Brother Jonathan, so many pictures here in the video are from other like steamships.)

Cool video, I worked for the company that salvaged her gold in 1997. Hoping to one day dive the wreck and bring back some quality footage.
