Strange spiral in sky over Norway: RUSSIAN ROCKET?

Digital image processing is so advanced these days that it would be easy to dismiss the above picture as simply having been Photo-shopped, but this is not the case.

According to spaceweather.com (as well as several Norwegian-language news sources which do this author little good!) ,sky-watchers throughout northern Norway spotted this amazing phenomenon in the heavens on the night of Dec 8-9, 2009.

No one knows for sure what it was, but here is the account from Nick Banbury, who witnessed the event from Harstad, Norway:

It consisted initially of a green beam of light similar in color to the aurora with a mysterious rotating spiral at one end.this spiral then got bigger and bigger until it turned into a huge halo in the sky with the green beam extending down to the earth. According to the press, this could be seen all over northern Norway and must therefore have been very high up in the atmosphere to be seen hundreds of km apart

Some say it my have been a Russian rocket careening out of control, but the tight-lipped Russians deny this at present. I'll be keeping an eye on this story for further developments.


But it is still a mystery as to what created this fantastic sight. If you're a SETI kind of person, perhaps the aliens have at last arrived, but I don't recommend gambling on that in Vegas. -:)

Ok, im with Roundtheworld360 there, because rockets or missles dont go in a spiral form og spinning around, Besides that black wholw thing and the blue light was enourmus. Not a singel rocket in the world could have done it. A rocket from russia yea right. Suck my balls goverment!

that blue tail on that spiral was still visible for couple minutes.. Didn't anyone come up with the idea to get in their car and drive in the direction the beam was coming from? that way we all would've had some more answers.. but my guess is it has to do something with the HAARP facility in norway..
