At the HPA, we are dedicated to making sure that the chocolate we enjoy here was not made at the expense of a child's well being anywhere else. That's why we're committed to making sure that all chocolate used by Warner Brothers for Harry Potter merchandise is Fair Trade, and thus consistent with Warner Brothers' own ethical sourcing guidelines. We're giving Warner Brothers a deadline. The time for discussion, for yes men and form letters has long since past. Warner Brothers has until 11:59:59 PM EST on December 31st, 2011 to either prove that their chocolate is Fair Trade and consistent with their own ethical sourcing guidelines or to make significant steps toward making it so.

I just made my very own Muggle Howler! Once I learned fully about this issue, I felt compelled to upload my own thoughts on the matter in a YouTube video so that my voice can be one among many. Hopefully Warner Brothers will take notice of all of this!

What happens to the kids who are slaves to this chocolate after WB agrees to only use fair trade chocolate? Will they be kicked out on the street, or reassigned to another job? :( That's not a happy ending.
