Seriously, it depends on what you're looking for in an RPG. If you like them for the gameplay, western rpgs are probably the way to go. If you love RPGs for their stories, character development, and musical scores, nothing tops Japanese rpgs. Personally, Lost Odyssey is at the top of my gaming chart this gen.

I'm glad that the hero is not generic teeny-whiny spiky haired boy.

@TheKoolvid You're an idiot, there's no other way of putting it. I stated Fable, Fallout 3 and Oblivion don't have a BETTER STORY to tell than Lost Odyssey because, well, they don't. The stories in those games are horrible, I don't think anyone would argue otherwise - furthermore, just because a game is popular doesn't mean it's good; by that logic CoD games are the best games ever made...they aren't, but by that flawed logic they are.

@ChugomichaelStudios I like games that require strategy but don't stop all the action and take you out of the game experience by making you stand there and have hit points. Oblivion, Mass effect, fable, and fallout 3 are all great games that have good action, but not repetitive button mashing sequences, and tell a much better story at the same time.
