Joseph Riesgo: Internship with Paul Jones Racing Stable

Joseph Riesgo's five week internship was with the Paul Jones Racing Stable, California/New Mexico. Joseph always wanted to be a race horse owner, but hadn't thought of being a trainer. When he started at the UA, he was in the College of engineering. He found out about the RTIP program and enrolled in the program. During his internship he worked with seven horses, taking care of them as if they were his own. The second part of his internship was in Ruiodos and Tularosa, New Mexico, where Joseph learned what a leading trainer looks for when acquiring horses for top owners. Joseph graduated from RTIP in December 2008 and accepted a position with Paul Jones Racing Stable.
