Apologetics don't have a clue why people don't believe the bible. They think its because science has them fooled.
I realized the discrepancies of the bible long before I began accepting the scientific explanations for reality.

  • um god didnt create hell satan did. the reason god put the tree in the garden is because he wanted to give the people he created, free will. if he didnt give people a choice the people would HAVE to love him. if someone is forced to love it is not true love, that is why god gives mankind free will. god new the world would go bad but better a bad world than a world where nobody can make decisions for themselves.

  • @Excluziionz God created everything. Read your bible.

God created Satan knowing Satan would rebel. Read your bible.

God created the serpent and placed it in the garden knowing it would cause the downfall of man. Read your bible.

The god of the bible, knowing exactly what it would take for us to screw up, made certain to provide those things for us.

    READ YOUR BIBLE.

  • @stormyandcold You're quoting the bible as proof of a god?

    Here's a quote for you:

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you."

And yet he still formed Hitler, Stalin, Son of Sam, John Wilkes Boothe, etc.

If you hand a loaded gun to a guy who you know, without doubt, is going to kill someone with it, do you share any of the guilt?

But according to the bible a god created us knowing exactly how we would turn out and accepts none of the blame for that.

That's why I cannot believe the bible.

  • @corthew And your mom would probably shelter and feed you even if she knew you killed a few people as long as you justified it. Would that be love too? Ofcourse. Would it be right? Debatable. Would you deserve death for killing others? Absolutely. Thou shalt not kill. Moses was given the 10 commandments for a reason, to set in stone his basic laws. If you choose a sinners path, then, that path was created by yourself. God forgives, but, he can't redeem continual sinners.

  • @ChibiGremlins b. But god loves us. Right?

I bet my mom loved me more.

The punishment for not believing is eternal torment.

Would your mom do that to you?

Just for not believing in her?

You say he doesn't do it. We do it to ourselves.

Maybe your mom is different but with mine, I could have left and come back and she would have still loved me. If it was in her power she would have made sure I had no doubt about her. I would have known the wisdom of my choices.

    That's love.

    a. god goofed?

  • @corthew

    b. I'm saying that God doesn't condemn, does judge. It's the person's choice to live separate from God that results in death separate or Hell.

    "He doesn't have to" what?

God is outside of time. The future is not mystery to Him.

How do you get He created "the path" for us? He created an option of sin so we could have a choice (otherwise freewill would be useless)

    a. The sin is not in the good but imperfection. Good men lie, steal, and other small things no matter how little.

  • @ChibiGremlins

    b. I'm saying a good god who condemns you for eternity to torment is a contradiction.

He doesn't have to. If he created us knowing we wouldn't believe in him its his fault.

Free will is an illusion. We behave exactly as we were created to. How else could our actions be known from the foundation.

To then punish us for following the path he created for us is evil.

A good god who is evil is a contradiction.

    a. Good men don't believe in your god.

    Where is the sin.

  • b. Do you want judgment on action or intent or both? I not trying to twist but trying to get the same vocab.

We suffer because of sin and sin entered the world by Adam.

Sin was in the same place as dark. Dark is nothing but a lack of light.

I know of Saturn but there none on the Earth.

    Yes.

You mean like biblical salvation through atonement?

    a. No the people are the problem. In general a drunk has friends that are drunks. Misery loves company. Sinner can't stand God.

  • @ChibiGremlins

    b. Trying to twist it? If you give a man a gun knowing he's gonna shoot you its your own fault. Does that make it any clearer?

As for the verse, its a bit bigger than that. We suffer sin because of Adam. Right?

    Where was sin before Adam?

How should Adam have known it was wrong with no knowledge of sin?

Did Adam have free will before he knew sin?

Could god not have removed sin without removing free will?

    a. Why? Is god such an egotist that he can't deal with disbelief?
