Greenland - Polar Circle Marathon

The Polar Circle Marathon in Greenland is an extreme marathon and the only place in the world, where the runners will run over the ice cap. Apart from the 3 kilometres on the ice cap, the runners will pass enormous glacier to
The marathon distance for men was won by Bjarngues, moraine landscape, tundra and arctic desert.

Runners from Greenland, Denmark, Holland, Germany, Spain, Austria and Hungary joined the last marathon. A new marathon will take place in 2008.
The mens marathon was won by Bjarne Jensen from Denmark. The mens halfmarathon was won by Tjerk van Beersum from Holland.

In the womens marathon Anna van Hees from Holland won, while Hetty Gunters also from Holland was the fastest on the womens half marathon.
