Located along the riverbanks of southern Kenya, the sycomore tree is the centerpiece of an extraordinary ecosystem, producing several tons of fruit a year and feeding more different types of animals than any other kind of tree in Africa. From "The Queen of Trees,² airing on NATURE, Sunday, January 21 at 8 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings.)

The Peabody Award-winning film, presented in high-definition, is narrated by actress Patricia Clarkson. Celebrating its 25th anniversary season, NATURE, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning weekly natural history series, is produced by Thirteen/WNET New York for PBS.

  • I agree with all the comments that this is the best documentary it surely is the best i have ever seen period what a piece of film making i cant find it anywhere anybody know where i can get this ?

  • @grem458 yeah i practically cried the first time i watched this it was so great, and i it didn't spend all this time telling u about the crew and make it basically a reality tv program, it was a truly informative and breathtaking view inside one of natures greatest gifts.

  • Blessed be God for this most precious vision. The cinematography deserves an Award, simply outstanding and mesmerizing! I have never been so enthused to watch a documentary of this nature done with so much attention to detail. What a delight to see Nature's splendor. Thank you so very much PBS for continuing to enlighten us. I have posted this video on my educational site...Blessed be all and thank you Mother Nature for your gifts..hope mankind does not continue to destroy you.
