Airport protests put Thai economy in peril - 29 Nov 08

The siege of Bangkok's international airport by anti-government protesters could be a crippling blow for Thailands economy.

Not only thousands of travellers are stranded. The protests have also paralyzed the countrys international air freight to the tune of millions of dollars.

I live in bangkok for the last 6 months and im from the UK, to be honest i never seen any bad things going on with the PAD or the loyal PPP, but i can say this, the PAD have really not done there country any justice buy the airports seige, its set the country back about another 6years... how will the PAD make up for this loss of the economy, what a shame to a very wonderful country, ... long live the king. hope all will be well again soon here.

Thailand is awesome and the people are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I have been all around this world and I keep going back to Thailand. The really sad thing is shutting down the airport hurts the people that have the least. I have really good friends in Thailand, they are honest ward working people with parents and children to support. You may not agree with how they support them, but they are human beings. Better human beings than most! I hope this works out soon.
