  • good performance, but my choir teacher met Hogan, and Hogan said it is supposed to be pronounced "Baddle" Not "Battle" ...just a minor detail

  • Moses Hogan is well known for having wanted the T's in battle to be especially accented, and he has been documented on TV saying so as well. Still....some people do baddle...some people do was Hogan wanted....BaTTle!!

  • Ugh, I hate how the women keep doing the drips into the next notes like contemporary singers, it's driving my crazy.

  • Double Ugh!! They are NOT singing like contemporary pop singers at all. They are singing in the correct style for this kind of music.

  • @sopranosong Search 'The Battle of Jericho with Moses Hogan" by Riddle Films with Moses in the begnning of the video. Check out 30 seconds in. He states he wants the men to strongly hit the "t's"

  • @sopranosong :

if you really research this piece (or watch the version posted by RiddleFilms) you will hear from Moses Hogan yourself that the "t's" are to be accented in the men creating a struggle with the "sh".

  • bass solo at 49 seconds.. great!

  • awesome!

  • @sopranosong Well CLEARLY your choir teacher either lied about meeting him or he doesnt know what he is saying because Moses Hogan wants the Ts accented. "but I asked for the men to strongly accent the T's in the battle...Joshua fit the BaTTle BaTTle as opposed to the Ss sounds of the women....Jossshua and when you get the Ts and the opposing forces you have that conflict of a battle if you will"

    youtube it and you'll see

  • The best i have heard yet

  • i'm impressed. A high school choir? VERY WELL done.. loved the dynamics. did not really like the scoops at the end of the lines but again that's just personal opinion. this was a job wellll done. :)

  • This is very good for a high school choir! Impressed! The only thing that bugged me is the change of tempo towards the end. Although, after listening to it a few more times, it had a nice effect in stretching the tension and making it a somewhat more climatic ending.

    Really liked this! :)

  • @sopranosong Hogan wanted the T's in the Battle to be heard, so the T's from Battle and the S's from Joshua clash so it can be just like a battle.
