As the Third Reich spread relentlessly across Eastern Europe their prisoners were forced into staffing the ruthless Organisation Todt, providing the civil engineering required to protect and support the expanding empire. Considered no better than animals the prisoners faced a grim existence. Slave labour, starvation diets and violent abuse under fascist rule were daily occurrences in the construction of Hitlers defensive Atlantic Wall. This chilling tale stands as a memorial to those never made it home from a place closer to home than youd like to imagine
