Nice piece of machinery... No reason not to wash clothes in these machines.. The machines in recent decades have been a giant scam like any other product that has to continually re invent itself, and get gimmicky...today washers are way over priced, way over technical,way over the top..good looking though.Tooo much that can go wrong,and repair costs are just a rip off joke, They need to remain simple.

...I think you have that backwards? I was referring to the amount of soap left in the clothes after a "regular" load in a Kenmore Front Loader. The soap was left in the clothes after washing in the front loader. There is nowhere near that much soap in the Hoover after 2 spin-rinses, and if I deep-rinse there is none. Congrats on 10 years of service from your FL machine, you're doing much better than many I've seen. I'm just not a fan of over-priced equipment that doesn't function as advertised.

@dayhappen Why are stupid American so obssed with these damn front loaders HE washers, they are nothing more that thousands of dollars worth of junk, and the cleaning is really not that geat, i dont give a damn what Consumer Reports says, and for that matter, they are biased.. I had a $1700.00+ FL machine that was a NIGHTMARE, look on the net and see for yourself the nightmares that people are having with thesr front loaders

I agree - my mom had this one growing up and it washes better than anyone that I've bought as an adult! I used to love watching this machine run, it had a glass window in the top to watch it go.

@JSneaker thx for it
You really have that thing overloaded. You are getting almost no turnover with 7 pair in there. I wouldn't do more than 4 at a time in that machine.

I realized that I in fact loaded it incorrectly. I should have balled the jeans up more rather than lay them out. It was my first time using it so I didn't know better.

Um, I appreciate your effort in getting one that is Harvest Gold. But be honest, would you really wash your clothes in that.
The clothes aren't even moving and it sounds like they are being shredded.
That is a lot of noise, energy, and with the overflow rinse, water, compared to todays front-loaders.
And I'm thinking the front loader would get them cleaner.
Still, personally, I like the color. Love the colored appliances from the 70's.

Mmm...yah I'd rather wash in this than a plastic FL. I had an He4t and it's an expensive piece of junk. Cost me thousands in repairs and didn't clean all that well. My water bill doesn't cost nearly what that FL did so I'll stick with what I've got now. And yah, hehe, the color is pretty nice too.
