Our concert was in honor of St. Lucy's feast day, and the first half featured sacred chants and motets proper for the day. The second half of the concert included music from Dowland's Second Booke, 1600 with texts that describe darkness and light.

Thanks for your kind words and comments, and we're very pleased to know that you've discovered Dowland via Sting. While we're not coming from a rock 'n roll approach, we are a little less conventional than most early music people, and we appreciate what Sting has done to raise awareness of our music.
I just saw a documentary of Sting & Edin Karamazov playing John Dowland songs including this one. have you seen it? Now, I'm a big Dowland fan :)
Because of Stings rock'n'roll background, he had a more 'heavy metal'-kind of approach to this song. The lyrics are just asking for a strong interpretation and a bit of overacting :D "Hellish, hellish..." etc. Sting looked like the devil himself. scary.
