A Tribute to Katie McKenzie and Jessica Thrasher. RIP.

It is incredible how the loss of those within our community or our close friends and classmates, or our familes can affect so many people. I had the pleasure to attend the same high school and to know Katie and Jessica. Our close community is shaken right now with having to deal with two deaths. In the past few years of being students at Hansen, we've had to deal with three. First Sam, now Katie and Jessica. It is extremely difficult and even years after the loss of Sam, it still feels surreal. I don't think it will ever completely sink in. But we can do something. Through great loss, our community becomes even closer and we all learn to appreciate each other even more. The loss of Katie and Jessica is devastating but we can all come together, support and comfort each other, and remember how they touched our lives. This will only make us closer and become an even better family. I know that the grad class at Rick Hansen is a very close group and I hope that all of you continue to support each other and help each other through this. Do it for Katie and Jessica. Dedicate this year to them. I pray for their families, their close friends, and to all of the students at Rick Hansen who have been struck by this tragedy. Support and love each other. We all need each other now more than ever. This slide show is intended to show how these young ladies touched the lives of so many people around them. This is dedicated to Katie and Jessica, may you two rest in peace.
