They pretty much took an axe to the show when they started cutting scenes out. In "If Only", King Triton used to have a whole verse about not wanting to lose Ariel because it would be like losing her mother again, but they decided that it could be cut. No matter that the fate of Ariel's mother has been in debate since the movie first came out in 1989.

Man. If Drew Seeley is so popular, why are there no videos of him in The Little Mermaid? Even Clay Aiken has about a dozen different video recordings in Spamalot, and his dancing is terrible!

Hmm..I've watched another vid of Fathoms Below and they didn't sing nearly as much. Prince Eric didn't sing a reprise of The World Above...Wish they had recorded it...

The new Little Mermaid movie was ok, but WAY too passive! Personally, I always thought that Ariel's mother was captured by fishermen one day rather than run over by a pirate ship.

Even though they made a movie showing what happened to Ariel's mother..
I love everything about "Mermaid" EXCEPT the continuity issues of the various versions and spin-offs.. ugh.
