The intention of posting this clip is to include yet another fine example of Morteza Mahjoobi's piano style and approach to improvisation. In this case a rhythmic style referred to as "zarbi". The piece is and excerpt from a Golha program dedicated to and paying homage to the late Morteza Mahjoobi. The music is overdubbed with a poem by poet and lyricist Rahi Moayeri, recited by Roshanak and Sabet Imani. Rahi wrote this poem in the Spring of 1937 praising his collaborator and good friend, Morteza Mahjoobi. Mahjoobi and Moayeri co-wrote many songs including Caravan, Man Az Rooze Azal, and Navaye Ney.
i was student in 1978 in george washington university.one of my classmates asked about my nationality,i said that i was a persian.he refuted my claim.when i protested he said some thing that at the time seemed very funny to me ,but ,now, after seeing the real nature of iranian people and their love and reverence for bunch of stupid mullahs.my classmates responce to me was right.he said this to me:there are no more persians left, iranians killed them all.only persians enjoy this music.remember it
