Montezuma/He Doesn't Know Why - Fleet Foxes LIVE at the Hollywood Palladium 5/7/2011

Fleet Foxes' show was one of the best I've ever seen. Their live sound takes the feel of their records and amplifies it by one hundred. They played a long, beautiful set at the Palladium in Los Angeles including Helplessness Blues' opening track Montezuma (which live has a more stripped down tone and it's lovely) and a track from their debut album Fleet Foxes, He Doesn't Know Why. Sometimes waiting six hours is worth a view like this. They blew me away.

I was there, and I have to say this was the best concert I've been to musicianship-wise. They needed no special light or effects.

It was beautiful and I'm so glad I had the chance to experience their music live and hope they continue to create beautiful music.

I'm not a particularly sentimental person, or one given to waterworks, but I just saw them two nights ago in KC, and their rendition of Montezuma literally brought tears to my eyes.

I would have waited more than six hours willingly to stand by the rail but had to work that day. Got to the palladium around 4:30 and already there was like 60 people infront of me. Yet I saw them very close. The palladium is a hell of a venue.
