A huge dredging operation aimed at removing most of the PCB's from the bed of the upper Hudson River began on May 15th with a single five-cubic-yard scoop by a dredge. Years of digging will follow.

The real problem is the amount of PCBs that remain in the existant biomass. Do we have anything as to the rate of clearance from the environment?
