Could I ask you to please help dispell the myths about Captain Pugwash.
Seaman Staines, Roger the Cabin Boy and Master Bates were not part of the CP cartoon, nor was it full of dirty jokes yet people still repeat these myths claiming them to be fact.
I used to love CP as a kid and your rendition of the tune brings back happy memories.

One of the people responsible for the series took one of the UK newspapers to court after they published the "mis-information" and got them to retract the story, but mud sticks and people prefer to hear the "juicy gossip" than acknowledge the truth. Don't be offended when people get mad, they're just mad at themselves for believing an untruth and are responding to the effects of cognitive dissonance. They'll likely forget you ever told them the truth soon and return to the comfort of ignorance.
