台灣藍鵲,2011.04.21拍自高雄扇平。
Formosan Blue Magpie is Taiwan endemic subspecies. Its plumage is dark blue. Its tail is about 39.5cm long, the upper tail covert is white. The beak and feet are red.
Formosan Blue Magpie likes to gather in flocks, often 3~5 members in a straight line and flying above trees of lower mountains, or gliding down to the valley.
It perches in mountains at lower elevation, and is noisy and fierce by nature, It is good at hunting little birds, nestlings, wild rats, lizard or big insects, and the papaya is its favorite fruit.
Wow its a bit like a colourful UK Magpie, fantastic quality, thanks for sharing !
