Jim Zeller & Alan Gerber
Festival international de Montréal 2011
The legendary Zeller-Gerber duo caused a sensation in Quebec and New York during the '80s, even attracting the attention of a certain Bob Dylan. Between them, these two bluesmen—the former, a renowned harmonica wizard who celebrated his 25th anniversary in the biz in 2009, the latter, a singer and multi-instrumentalist well-known to all true fans—have shared the stage with most of the greatest names in blues-rock! Muddy Waters, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Charlebois, Jean Leloup...
That's proper harp playing on corinna corinna - and a sick mannish boy groove/riff at end. People like to crap on Zeller for tackiness - i recall various girlfriends pole-dancing onto the stage as sort-of vocalists - but Jim has and had magic-dick amounts of style, as far back as 1975 - velvet jacket, harps in glass of water, kalamazoo amp under a coat - shakey al blues band out of detroit. Scotia audience had faces blown out by Zeller.
