This show is basically a spinoff of junkyard wars, the equipment is beat up garbage and it's reminiscent of the first actual alaskan gold rush where most never found any gold, 24 episodes and these clods still haven't mined an ounce. ABC runs Discovery, compared to history channel they are a joke, their show Moonshiners is a fraud, ABC is a bunch of fruity democrat liars, they should stick to UFO's and ghost hunting.

is it just me or do you think Todd and hid dad are idiots. every episode they go on gut feelings, i wonder if they ever thought about reading up on what they are doing before jumping into it. they probably would have had gold by last season!....just saying

Discovery channel really miking this show to the point of not being watchable anymore. Each show spends 15 to 17 minutes about what happened the last show, for the remaining time they follow three groups back and forth. As far as being fake, I don't think so, but discovery channel making a tons of money from this show, and they are not going to let this these people going home due to lack of funds. Dakota Fred is the guy with the black hat which every good stroy needs.
