A tribute to Benoit Mandelbrot (20 November 1924 -- 14 October 2010) - a maverick of academia. See http://fractaljourney.blogspot.com/ for more technical details.
I was inspired by an idea by Ken Hawthorn (at the Fujitsu Planetarium, De-Anza college in Cupertino, California) and by Dr. Mandelbrot's death last year to create a high definition rendering of a Mandelbrot zoom that might be appreciated by those who have never seen fractals and could be projected in a Planetarium setting. Planetarium operators are welcome to contact me to use this material gratis.

Tout simplement hallucinant. L'humanité est encore loin de tout savoir ou d'avoir tout découvert. Merci pour ce partage.

"that might be appreciated by those who have never seen fractals"
I can tell you that it isn't appreciated only by them.
