An effective and economical way to insulate drafty windows. Without expending lots money on replacing with new fancy windows, you can achieve energy efficient home in the winter by simply putting up the shrink films for the season.

The shrink film is installed around the entire window to eliminate cold air drafts and frost build-up. Crystal clear film that is easy to install with a hair dryer that shrinks tight and wrinkle free. Creates dead air space to increase insulating R-Value up to 90%.

The window insulator kit can save up to $17 per window this heating season. Values based on averages from the northern half of the United States. Actual energy savings are subject to change and will vary depending on furnace and window type, average indoor/outdoor temperature, length of heating season and other factors. Savings based on energy costs as of March 2009.

  • cant i just use clingfilm ?

  • @prickelyheat Cling-on film is for different purpose. The cling-on film acts as the same as solar control film which is to reject heat to the outside and the cling-on film is to be applied to the window glass itself. The winter insulation film is to be applied to the window frames to create a dead air space between the window glass and film to stop the winter draft (cold air) leaking in from the tiny gaps between the frames. Hope this explains.

  • So tis doesnt stick to the window? it just tapes up and then when wointer is over you untape it?

  • @fuckyoda Yes, this is a film to prevent the winter draft. You have to tape it around the window frame to create a still air space so the cold winter draft doesn't leak into your house from the tiny gaps between the window and the window frame. This film is different from the solar control film which adhere to the window glass to reject the heat to the outside of the house in summer or retain the heat to the inside of the house in winter. Hope this explains.

  • How on earth do you pull the backing off the 2 sided tape. I am having the most horrible peeling the backing........

  • @bb102757 This is the window insulation film to be taped on the frame/wall around the window and there is NO backing/liner. This film is to prevent the winter draft leaking into the house from the gaps in between window frames. This insulation film is different from the solar control window film which has a liner to be peeled off and the adhesive on the film to be adhered to the window glass.

    Hope this explains.

  • Theoretically, could you put this accross your ceiling too?

  • I was skeptical but it does work. I have a window facing north and one facing west. My ceiling in the living/dining room is 14 feet high. I need to keep my heat set at 70 so this area stays at leat 66. After installing this product I can set my heat to 68 and stay comfrtable especially on a cold windy day.Definitely worth the time and money!

  • @dippinb217 hey, I'm not sure I remember, ha. oh <.< maybe I just randomly "ha" too much, haha.... hahahaha. ha o_o really I do

  • @cj4138 what's so funny

  • I am in a 700 sq foot apartment with 4 windows. I believe I feel a draft. How much will I save? I live near San Francisco, so it can get cold. My heating bill is $50
