Everyone needs to read more Gellner. I think the solutions he came up with for our problems are the best we can realistically implement.

A man of his times, with Wood Allan type humour. In prose, he was simple, French, like Pacal. But too theoretical, like Voltarian Issac Luria, that is, a Jew lost in the Kabbalah of secularism.

Gellner is fantastic. I've just read Postmodernism, Reason and Religion and found it very insightful.. His prose is refreshingly clear rather than simple.....and amusing.
