@killkenny5000 my Atari jaguar pad i think is better but similar idea with the number pad, allowing you select directly without cycling through weapons etc
in fact the atari jaguar pro pad was the best pad ever.made for that particular game, the 2 flipper buttons could have been strafe instead of doubled up with the c button.
and all your weapons and maps etc are avilable directly with out cycling left and right on ever other console
@killkenny5000 i'd probably agree with that, the intellivision was technically more advanced, but game programming was far more developed on the atari.
ive not seen anything approaching a battlezone level of game on the intellivision,
and maybe it the controllers, maybe its just what i grew up playing with
but theres a playablity quality to a lot of atari 2600 games, that i dont find even when the games are repeated on later atari consoles

@cant1rac you know games like doom can be useful for an intellivision controller
d-pad for moving forward, back, turn left, right
2 fire buttons to strafe left, right (with this you can do circle strafe)
keypad to switch weapons
1 fire buttons to attack
1 fire button to run and open doors

@jeremysart afraid not, bought the intellivison lives ps2 dvd, from my perspective it seams obvious why i stuck with the atari at the time
but i know you should judge on how it plays on the real hardware, not emulation
dig dug, pitfall, pacman (better than the 2600) and a few others seam to make the machine a viable purchase if i find one cheap on ebay.
i really didnt rate any off the games on the dvd, so it put me off the intellivision slightly, but i will get round to getting one
