Pulitzer Prize-winning humor columnist Dave Barry identifies what is, in his words, a common "theme" running throughout his career.

-----

Dave Barry discusses "Dave Barry's History of the Millennium (So Far)."

So much has happened in our aughts already, it is imperative that we take a moment to review Dave Barry's year-by-year history of the millennium. He has, with great insight and courage, taken the time to record these turbulent times. For those with "outrage overload," this is a chance to laugh at it all - Politics and Prose

Dave Barry is a humor columnist. For 25 years he was a syndicated columnist whose work appeared in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and abroad. In 1988 he won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. Many people are still trying to figure out how this happened.

Dave has also written a total of 30 books, although virtually none of them contain useful information. Two of his books were used as the basis for the CBS TV sitcom "Dave's World," in which Harry Anderson played a much taller version of Dave.

Dave plays lead guitar in a literary rock band called the Rock Bottom Remainders, whose other members include Stephen King, Amy Tan, Ridley Pearson and Mitch Albom. They are not musically skilled, but they are extremely loud. Dave has also made many TV appearances, including one on the David Letterman show where he proved that it is possible to set fire to a pair of men's underpants with a Barbie doll. - Dave Barry Official Website

  • I grew up in Minnesota (Uff-da!) which is next to Both of the Dakotas and has the same

fierce winters, mosquitoes, etc. Now I live in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles has better weather. The Mid-West has nicer people.

Dave Barry grew up in New York. He's probably familiar w/ pretty cold weather. In

any case IMHO he's America's greatest humorist. Certainly the most prolific.

  • How are the jobs up there? Has it died down or are they still hiring like crazy around Williston in the Oil Fields?

  • i have to admit i live in north dakota an its BORING AS HECK i cant wait till im older im living in oregon

  • @patooey2- No. Not at all.

  • Haha this is funny. I live in grand forks and have never heard of that building before though, hmmm maybe I should check it out.....

  • I got a good laugh from this video. He is really funny. I live in ND, Fargo to be exact. I love my state. It is cold in the winters though. It's suppose to get down to -22 below. Burrr!!!! Hey people, just in case you want to visit our state, don't be shy. Pick your season, we have 4 of them. I personally like all 4. The winter may be cold, some days more than others, but there is plenty in winter to do.

  • I live in ND, I can laugh at this. But, be careful, we LOVE our state!!

  • Wow this guy can take his bad jokes and his ego and shove it up his fat ass

  • LMAO! I lived in North-by-God-Dakota for 2 yrs while stationed at Grand Forks AFB - H O L Y C R A P - nearly a 200 degree tempurature range (over a 100 in summer, all 2 days of it, and -85 at worst in the 9 months of winter). And pretty women? Sorry, they're mostly corn-fed husky women to keep warm "a doncha kno?" Then when it does get warmer, mousquitos from hell actually swarm your car, then later flys that carry away small kids & animals, & young kids going crazy with nothing to do!
